About HCG
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone made of two subunits, alpha and beta. It is quantified in international units (IU), a measure of biological activity, rather than by mass.
The alpha subunit is shared with luteinising hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH); the beta subunit gives hCG its specificity. hCG acts on the same receptor as LH, the LH/choriogonadotropin receptor, which is why it is widely used as an LH-receptor agonist in reproductive endocrinology research, including studies of steroid production by gonadal cells.
Because strengths are given in IU, switch the peptide calculator to IU mode when working out concentration. It never converts IU to mass.
Form and storage

2Lyophilised peptides in transit
Freeze-dried peptides travel as a dry solid in a sealed vial, which is far more robust than a solution. When the parcel arrives, move the vials to cold storage, away from light and moisture.
Frequently asked
Why does the vial look almost empty?
A few milligrams of freeze-dried peptide is a very small amount of solid. It often dries as a thin film or small cake on the base or wall of the vial, which is easy to miss. It dissolves once the vial is reconstituted.
Is bacteriostatic water included?
No. Diluent is sold separately, and the peptide calculator works out concentration and draw volume for the amount of water you add.
